The absence of remotely triggered seismicity in Gujarat, NW India during the Nepal earthquake, 2015

چکیده
Gujarat in the Northwestern Deccan Volcanic Province of India is among most seismically earthquake-prone. The region may be susceptible to remote dynamic triggering, especially Kachchh region, which recently hosted M w 7.7 Bhuj earthquake 2001. Its aftershocks continue because it critically stressed and contains nucleation points more frequently close failure. From waveforms catalog data, we examine whether triggering occurs following 25 April 2015, 7.8 Nepal mainshock India. 2015 event perturbed with a peak stress ∼53 kPa, much higher than global lower limit 1 kPa. Due large magnitude high stress, ideally, should have resulted triggered seismicity study region. To detail, also examined other recent regional earthquakes comparable stresses (>50 kPa), namely, 16 2013, Iran, 24 September Pakistan, 26 October Afghanistan. Our result shows that despite their significant there no change local seismicity. analysis suggests surface wave amplitude not only factor governs triggering. results indicate faults were during candidates

The Absence of Remotely Triggered Seismicity in Japan
Remote dynamic triggering occurred in the western United States and Greece following the following the Denali, Hector Mine, Landers, and Izmit mainshocks in seismically active, largely geothermal areas that experienced shaking from the mainshock typically exceeding 0.2 cm/sec. Because triggered earthquakes are small (often below Mw, 2), investigations of whether remote triggering is a generally...
متن کاملSeismicity remotely triggered by the magnitude 7.3 landers, california, earthquake.
The magnitude 7.3 Landers earthquake of 28 June 1992 triggered a remarkably sudden and widespread increase in earthquake activity across much of the western United States. The triggered earthquakes, which occurred at distances up to 1250 kilometers (17 source dimensions) from the Landers mainshock, were confined to areas of persistent seismicity and strike-slip to normal faulting. Many of the t...

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.
Remotely Triggered Seismicity on the United States West Coast following the Mw 7.9 Denali Fault Earthquake
The Mw 7.9 Denali fault earthquake in central Alaska of 3 November 2002 triggered earthquakes across western North America at epicentral distances of up to at least 3660 km. We describe the spatial and temporal development of triggered activity in California and the Pacific Northwest, focusing on Mount Rainier, the Geysers geothermal field, the Long Valley caldera, and the Coso geothermal field...
متن کاملTropical disease after earthquake: 2015 Nepal earthquake
The earthquake is usually a big disaster that causes several death and mortalities. Post earthquake crisis is an important situation for management. The recent 2015 Nepal earthquake is one of the most destructive earthquakes in history. In post earthquake crisis, lack of facilities, destroyed of infrastructures and limitation of transportation can be expected. This can superimpose the situation...
